Nintendo recognizes 3 years of Switch Online Expansion Pack, says "stay tuned" for excitement in 2025

They say time flies when you’re having the fun, and that’s certainly been the case for the Switch. There have been all sorts of amazing experiences and releases since day one with the system, and that very much includes the release of the Switch Online Expansion Pack.
Believe it or not, its been 3 years since the Switch Online Expansion Pack came about, and it brought even more value to the Switch Online service. The Expansion Pack option packed in N64, GB/GBC/GBA and SEGA Genesis classics, along with expansions for some of your favorite Switch exclusives. Nintendo continues to releases content for the Expansion Pack service, and it seems they’re gearing up for goodies next year as well.
Nintendo just sent out an email celebrating 3 years of Switch Online Expansion Pack, and it included a tantalizing tidbit at the end. The email leaves fans to ponder the following message:

No details on what’s in the works, but it’s nice to know that Nintendo isn’t done with the Expansion Pack features just yet. Let’s hope we find out above some of them soon!

21d agoMy best guess is that the Expansion Pack will have an upgrade when Switch 2 becomes available. Said upgrade may include GameCube and possibly some Wii games. There could be some others thrown in, like DS and 3DS as well.🤞🙄🤞
Let's hope that if that's the case, the same content is made available to Switch owners with the Expansion Pack as well. That said, totally in agreement that all of these Switch Online Expansion Pack teases and tests are sure to be available on Switch's successor as well.
I’d definitely love to see a GameCube expansion pack. I like to think that the online play test is for games like Mario Kart: Double Dash and Mario Party 4-7.

19d agoAll these rumors such as the Game Cube controllers certainly seem to point to Game Cube coming to switch. We will see!
Yeah, but we already have GameCube controllers for Switch.
