Bandai releasing Super Mario Bros. Wonder standee displays
Now this is a cool idea for a collectible
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the latest 2D Mario title, and it introduced all kinds of new features and mechanics to the long-running series. Standees were one of the new elements included, and they were used in-game to as a respawn point for ghost characters. There are 144 standees in-game to collect, and now you’ll be able to pick up a few of them in real life.
Bandai has announced that they’ve teamed with Nintendo for a collection of real-life Super Mario Bros. Wonder standees. This line has launched as of today, but you can only find them at Nintendo TOKYO/OSAKA/KYOTO and Japanese 7-Eleven locations for the time being. Let’s hope they make their way to other retailers in the near future.
There are 14 standees in this debut collection, and they are priced at roughly $2.15 a piece. Each package includes a random standee from the options above, and there’s also a piece of gum included as well. Let’s hope these are popular enough to warrant Bandai making the entire in-game standee series into real-life collectibles!
