Very happy for Astro and Echoes moving strong numbers. I thought that various factors surrounding Echoes of Wisdom’s post-BotW/TotK release, open-ended creative focus, and Zelda protagonist would result in stronger release window sales… oh well. Maybe it’ll have a strong long tail.

Echoes is a spin-off with reused assets and doesn't look nearly as interesting as BOTW/TOTK. I was very excited for a Zelda game with Zelda in the lead role, but this isn't something that will anger my backlog.

There are very few actual reused assets. I think it’s an extremely interesting game and one of the most charming and genuinely challenging (on hero mode) games in the series. Top 10 franchise entry, personally speaking. Public opinion around the performance/frame rate (for largely legitimate reasons) also played some sort of a part in what seems like a rather lukewarm reception for an original LoZ game

They reused an entire engine and the main assets before they built upon those, rather than making a game from scratch. It's also a spin-off, not a mainline game . Of course it's getting a lukewarm reception.

I'll stay with my backlog for now. And TOKT is one of those behemoths in that department.
