Developer and publisher SUCCESS Corp. have announced that a Switch port is in the works for HEAVEN SEEKER: The Savior of This Cruel World, a twin-stick rogue-lite shooter that first released for PC in June 2024. A release date has not yet been shared, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as more information is made available.

◆Features

・Explore a dungeon that changes each time you enter.

In this title, you move with the left stick and aim with the right stick. This is a bullet hell shooting game where you freely control your character and explore random dungeons. When your HP reaches 0, you will lose all the items you have gained during this exploration. The player gains experience by exploring many times and learning the patterns of the rooms and the nature of the enemies.

・Create your own “Magic Shot!”

The shot fired by the player character can be modified by freely combining over 20 customizable items to change its properties. Since items are randomly acquired during each quest, players will fight with a different “personalized shot” each time they dive into a dungeon.

・Dot Art Style Game Visuals

All in-game elements in this title, including player characters, enemies, and dungeons, are rendered in high-quality dot art.

◆Story

In this world, Pentagaia, there were five countries that had been transferred from five different worlds.

  • Magi Province, the land of wizards, where magical technology flourished.
  • A land of priestesses and samurai, a land of warriors and the four seasons.
  • A land of elves, with the blessings of the World Tree.
  • A land of mechanical ingenuity, where super-science rules the world.
  • A land of wilderness and dust, ruled by demons.

The rulers of each nation sent explorers to the Castle of Heaven, where the secrets of Pentagaia were said to lie. They did so with the longing to return to the original world. These explorers were called “Heaven Seekers”.

An update is now available for DAVE THE DIVER, adding three new collaborations to the deep-sea exploration RPG. The update includes: a new crafting system inspired by Potion Craft, a unique rendition of Balatro, and a special concert from Mxmtoon.

Check out the trailer above and the “Dev Dive” highlights below for further details about what’s featured in the update. A full list of patch notes for the v1.0.3.924 update can also be found here.

Playtonic has released a new trailer for Yooka-Replaylee, revealing which platforms the Yooka-Laylee remaster will be coming to. Interestingly, instead of a Switch logo, the end of the trailer only features a plain Nintendo logo, likely alluding that the game is planned for Switch 2. The successor to Nintendo Switch, dubbed by fans as Switch 2, will be revealed before the end of this fiscal year. A release date for Yooka-Replaylee has not yet been announced.

Yooka-Replaylee is the remastered/remade, gorgeous, definitive version of Yooka-Laylee! A 3D-Platforming love letter to 3D-Platformers of old. Join dymanic duo Yooka and Laylee as they venture out across beautiful, varied worlds in a bid to put an end to Capital B’s nasty plan. With improved graphics, more dynamic worlds, new and improved challenges, new collectibles, new characters, a whole host of quality of life improvements and more to discover!

With a PC demo released back in 2020, the finalized release date for NAIRI: Rising Tide has now been announced. The narrative puzzle adventure game from developer HomeBearStudio and publisher Hound Picked Games will launch for Switch digitally via the eShop on Nov. 14th, 2024. Check out more details below via the press release.

In this next instalment of the series, players can expect to experience richer, vastly improved hand drawn artwork with many new characters and, of course, some beloved friends returning!

Set after the events of NAIRI: Tower of Shirin, NAIRI: Rising Tide sees Nairi continue on her journey to save her family. As Nairi and her companions try to overcome the many dangers of the corrupt city of Shirin, an apocalyptic prophecy emerges that threatens to devour everything.

In NAIRI: Rising Tide players experience an engaging story filled with charm and adventure. Exploration is key with a large, hand drawn world full of colourful and memorable animal (and human) characters that players know and expect from HomeBearStudio!

As players explore, they will be able to craft creative solutions by combining items with the new Toolbelt, which will aid them with challenging brain teasers that are contained within intricate puzzle-dungeons!

Will Nairi and her companions be able to overcome the many dangers of the corrupt city of Shirin while an apocalyptic prophecy threatens to devour everything?

Nothing to see here, just Gilligan enjoying a sandwich…

Features:

  • World: A larger and more interconnected world/dungeons.
  • Puzzles: more complex dungeons and puzzles require serious wit to overcome.
  • Skip: for players who would rather focus on the narrative: dungeons can be skipped.
  • Toolbelt: craft new items by placing items in the ‘Toolbelt’ and using the correct tool!
  • Maps & Goal Markers: find maps to help with orientation and figure out where to go.
  • Fast-Travel: alleviate backtracking by fast-travelling to key areas in the ‘overworld’.
  • Improved Hint System: purchase hints system ranging from nudges to full solutions.
  • Collectibles, Lore & Log: the Journal now includes much more than just hints.
  • Recruits: earn coins by recruiting certain NPCs (which also spruce up your ‘base)’.
  • Figurines: coins aren’t just for hints - purchase cute figurines for extra lore!
  • Item Descriptions: items can now be examined for context and/or guidance.
  • Synopsis: an illustrated synopsis explains the events of ‘NAIRI: Tower of Shirin’ to catch up new and old players alike.
  • Artwork: another collectible comes in the form of hidden concept art pieces.

“We were fortunate to be able to work with fewer restraints this time around and are proud of how Rising Tide turned out. HomeBearStudio is beyond excited for NAIRI fans - and any fan of the genre - to finally get their hands on the sequel!” - Joshua van Kuilenburg, HomeBearStudio.
