A site that was formerly occupied by an illegal travellers’ camp is to be developed into housing, after a residents’ campaign group fought for action.

The site in the Osmaston area of Derby will see 95 new homes built upon it.
The travellers occupied the site for seven years, before moving on to a purpose-built settlement in 2011.
Two sites have remained undeveloped since Derby City Council flattened 92 houses in 2000, the BBC reported.
